Empowering Our Community

Back in 2015, God called our founder and director, Bob Moore, to work with a local ministry in a supportive role. In May of 2021, Bob drew on this experience to take the first steps toward launching Niagara Falls Outreach Ministry. Standing on the street corner that Spring day, handing out granola bars and tracts, he approached a local man who sat drinking on a stoop, intoxicated. That man voiced his complaint against the church, saying, “if the church really cared they would be here.” He was right and those words moved Bob to begin a local outreach. In August of 2021, with a team of about 8 from a local church in Niagara Falls, the ministry began a bi-monthly outreach on the corner of 19th and Niagara Streets offering non-perishables, clothing and hot food as a way to open opportunities to share the good news with local residents. The response was almost immediate. People were willing to receive prayer and to hear about the love of Jesus. One young lady named Dawn, started crying when asked why she was working the streets. Over the next several weeks and many follow up visits, she shared her story of how she had endured horrible things as a child and how, when she confided these things to the adults in her life, no one believed her. As she shared her story, she ultimately wrote on a piece of cardboard:“Thank you for bringing me back home to Jesus”. At that point, God made it clear that the hurting women of the inner city would be the focal point of this ministry. To date we have private connections to dozens of women as we continue sharing Jesus with all who will listen.
